SINGLE HANDED

CABIN BOATS CATAMARANS

CATALINA 14.2' CATALINA 16.5' INTERLAKE FLYING SCOT

MULTI-HANDED

Midwest Sailing's complete line of boats for daysailing offers you a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy the water. From the popular Catalina and Hunter Trailerables to the classic one-designs, the Interlake and Flying Scot, we have something for everyone. All of these boats can be sailed single-handed but are usually sailed best with two people.

Catalina 14.2
Catalina 14.2 Stern View   "Sporty, quick moving daysailer. Has some elements and feel of traditional race oriented one designs (470, Vanguard 15) but in a boat with seats" -MICHAEL
The Catalina 14.2 is the perfect combination of day sailing comfort and racing performance for the active sailing family or couple. Long seats in the cockpit with seat backs, wide side decks and plenty of freeboard help keep the crew dry and comfortable. Stability and easy handling make the 14.2 an ideal boat to learn in, while the experienced skipper will enjoy the active one design racing class.

"Roomy, comfortable daysailer. I particularly like the position of the mainsheet cleat and the wide decks for sailing in more moderate and puffy air" -MICHAEL

The Catalina 16.5 boasts a big roomy cockpit, and large storage locker forward, making for ideal family outings. The Centerboard model features a powerful sailplan, balanced by the stable hull form and fiberglass centerboard and rudder. Adjustable hiking straps, tiller extension, adjustable outhaul, and sheet bag are all standard equipment

"Generous sail plan makes for a fun boat to sail in light to medium air." -MICHAEL

Never before have comfort and performance been so successfully integrated into a one design sailboat. Not only is the Interlake an exciting and challenging boat to race, it is also the perfect boat for a leisurely sail with family or friends. Its efficiently designed cockpit allows you to daysail comfortably with 2 to 6 adults. The large, dry storage area under the front deck provides lots of storage space for racing gear or picnic supplies. The hard chine hull adds stability without adding weight, while the rocker keel allows quick turning, tacking and exceptional maneuverability in tight places.

Flying Scot 19'
Flying Scot Bow View   "Great stability. Surprisingly quick for it's size. Planes out nicely with the centerboard halfway on a reach." -RICK
The common sense rigging and convenient cockpit layout makes sailing a breeze. You do not have to be an athlete to sail a Scot. Easily handled by two people, yet large enough for a crowd of six to eight. It's big enough to be fast and safe on big water, yet small enough to be towed by a small car. It can also be rigged, launched and sailed by one person. It is the ultimate family boat for daysailing. The large, dry, center cockpit, and generous storage space make it perfect for exploring that new lake or coastal shoreline. Positive flotation makes the Scot unsinkable, and there is almost nothing to break or wear out.
